Manos de Dios Mission Statement and Strategy
Mission Statement: The mission of Manos de Dios is to bring the message of God’s hope, love, peace, and purpose to the families in the barrios of Sonora Mexico. We seek to share Gods love in practical and developmental ways that will enhance their spiritual and physical lives, thus being the “hands of God”….Manos de Dios.
Loving Families and Children Vision Statement: “Partnering with the Holy Spirit to empower Mexican people to grasp God’s full purpose” Built on… Jeremiah 29:11-13 “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Our Strategy: Manos de Dios builds relationships. We reach out to local, indigenous pastors in communities in northern Sonora, Mexico. We prayerfully seek to encourage, equip and empower the pastors in ways that help them in their calling to serve the Lord and their community. This includes praying with and for the pastor and his wife (and children), visiting their church & worship services, inquiring as to what is needed and then prayerfully seeking sources to supply these needs. These may include physical needs for the church or pastor’s family; providing training conferences for pastors, leadership or members; undergirding an evangelical outreach event, and simply being friends with the pastor and his family! As Manos de Dios works alongside the local pastors we often are brought face to face with basic human needs such as food, clothing, shelter, and education assistance for people in chronic poverty. Our gifts of encouragement, serving, teaching and intercession are being used as we continue a prison ministry, disciple/teach individuals and small groups, pray, and lead teams on short term missions trips.
We follow Matthew 25:36 by providing food for the hungry, clothing for the needy, and tending to the sick and visiting those in prison. We love our Mexican brothers and sisters to Jesus by showing them respect, by honoring their culture and traditions, and by being physically present in their lives and in their community. We are also very careful not to enable or to allow people to abuse the blessings that God offers them.
